Skan appoints Group Manufacturing Director for Boughton & Oldbury.

Skan Group Holdings has announced the first group-level senior operational appointment following its decision to co-locate its current Barton-under-Needwood-based Boughton Engineering operation to within its Oldbury UK facility at Wolverhampton. Clive Higgs, who has been in charge of manufacturing at the former Reynolds Boughton business for the last ten years, has been appointed Group Manufacturing Director for both Boughton Engineering and Oldbury UK.

Clive Higgs’ background includes a forty-year plus experience of management and leadership in a range of manufacturing environments. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Factory Management and a Licentiate of the Institute of Metallurgists, in addition to proven capabilities in other areas such as industrial relations and quality systems.

Group Managing Director, Richard Skan says, “Our recent acquisition of the former Reynolds Boughton businesses – and the decision to integrate the companies’ activities on the two main centres in Winkleigh, Devon and Wolverhampton, is going to present some exciting challenges. Clive Higgs will play a key role in that process and I am very pleased to welcome him to our senior management team.”

Clive Higgs says, “The strategic fit, complementary capabilities and business synergies between Boughton Engineering and Oldbury are extremely strong. There are tremendous opportunities for the companies together going forward and I am delighted to be assuming this role at such an important time.”
