Nancy Pallares joins Skan Group to head Oldbury & Boughton growth in world markets.

Oldbury UK and Boughton Engineering, the two specialist engineering operations within Skan Group, have strengthened their defence sector business development resources with the appointment of Nancy Pallares, with effect from 1st September.  Ms. Pallares will report directly to Group Managing Director, Richard Skan as the group seeks to broaden its reach in its established defence and security markets and particularly overseas.

Nancy Pallares is well known in the UK defence, environmental and security circuit, particularly for her previous eight years experience with a leading supplier in the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) sector. She has worked extensively with a range of UK government departments and agencies in areas including security sensitive projects and civilian critical infrastructure. She was previously a member of the CBRN UK Executive Committee.

Prior to moving into her CBRN role, she held a senior appointment responsible for pan-European logistics at a leading European material, mechanical and plant engineering group. A French national and a graduate in English from the University of Haute Alsace, she also has a Masters in English Linguistics from the same University and speaks five other languages.

Of joining Skan Group, Nancy Pallares says, “The strength and heritage of the Oldbury and Boughton brands is best known in the UK market. I look forward to working with Richard Skan and the team to reinforce that domestic market success, whilst actively seeking to expand the business in other sectors and overseas markets, both as a lead supplier and as a Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chain supplier to prime contractors”.
Group Managing Director, Richard Skan says, “I am delighted to welcome an energetic, intelligent, versatile and experienced business leader such as Nancy Pallares to the Skan Group team. Nancy is an important part of our strategic development plans for the businesses and her international knowledge will be a great asset. Skan Group is very committed to the future growth of its two iconic heritage engineering brands, which together have over 250 years of proven excellence. Clearly, with our domestic market constrained, we will turn our attention towards the international opportunities where we know we can add world class value”.
