Cayvol gives Oldbury a big lift

Specialist trailer and transport equipment builder, Oldbury UK has taken over the role of UK and Ireland importer for Cayvol, the Spanish-based manufacturer of hydraulic chain- and hook-loaders. Oldbury has been supplying a range of Cayvol equipment for some time, particularly as part of its articulated trailer-mounted, heavy-duty roll-on-off waste container system.

Cayvol is the predominant market leader of hydraulic loader equipment in Spain and currently installs equipment on over 1000 vehicles a year at its base in Barcelona. Mike Nellist, who is well known in the industry and previously helped the predecessor UK importer when it offered the Cayvol equipment, will continue as an adviser to Oldbury.

Oldbury Managing Director, Richard Skan says, “Taking over the importer function for Cayvol is a natural progression of the relationship which has existed for some years. We know the quality and performance capabilities of the equipment – and that it is ideally suited for the requirements of UK operators, particularly in the wastes management sector. We are also very fortunate to have inherited Mike Nellist as an adviser – as he is synonymous with the Cayvol product’s presence in the UK market and his knowledge and experience will be of great benefit, both to us and the loyal end-user customer base”.

Cayvol’s ‘Multivol’ system features a sliding hydraulic column which enables a range of different sized containers to be transported. Automatic, hydraulically operated hooks locate onto the container – and the system includes a non-return valve to assist the unloading sequence. Lifting capacities are available from 3 to 30 tonnes and options include an articulated column and an hydraulic locking system which can accommodate different bin widths.

Cayvol’s ‘Multicontainer’ chain-lift skip loader system features telescopic arms and rear independent angled support feet. The hydraulic controls can be operated from both outside and inside the cab – with pneumatic operation for the latter. High strength chains incorporate a shortening facility. Capacities range from 3 to 20 tonnes and options include independent telescopic arms.
